Purchases

Please choose carefully as we do not give refunds for:

Change of Mind
Make a wrong decision

A refund, exchange or credit may apply if goods:

Are proven faulty
Have been wrongly described
Different from what was advertised

Receipt as proof of purchase must be provided.

Errors and Omissions:

All images and specifications on our website are indicative only. Actual products may vary from what is shown on our website. We accept no liablity for typographical errors,misprints, omissions or changes in specification or pricing. From time to time manufacturer’s specifications will change without notice. If unsure about an aspect of a product, please contact us on 07 3393 5575 prior to purchase.

Class & Events Booking Terms and Conditions

Please check class dates and times carefully before booking. No refunds will be made for classes due to “Change of Mind” or “double booking”.

By booking a class you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

A non-refundable payment for the class fee is required and payable in full at the time of the booking to secure your place and must be purchased at least one week prior to class commencing. Your place is not booked until this payment has been received. Regretably ( even in the case of illness) River City Sewing Machine Centre are not in a position to refund cancellations as we are committed to run the class or event for others who have already bought their supplies and have rostered our instructors or pre-booked visiting teachers to run the class.
Payment can be made over the phone using credit card facilities if you are unable to visit us in store.

All Class fees are non-refundable or transferable. No refunds on “Change of Mind” , no-shows, missed classes or late arrivals.

All class fees do not include any materials or class kits unless otherwise stated. Requirement lists are items that attendees need to bring to complete the class. All items are available for purchase in-store prior to the commencement of the class unless otherwise stated. Students will be responsible to bring all items on the requirements list to complete the class.

Occasionally we may have to cancel or postpone a class due to unavoidable circumstances or if a class is undersubscribed. In such a case we will notify all confirmed attendees as soon as possible and class fees will be refunded in the form of a store credit or River City Sewing Gift Card. River City Sewing Machine Centre will not be held liable for any students out of pocket costs for any class it cancels.

River City Sewing Machine Centre does not accept responsibility for changes in the circumstances of its students.

Unless otherwise stated, in any classes or events using sewing machines, it is assumed you have a working knowedge of your own machine all the parts required for that class or event. Please ensure that you have your power cord and foot control when you pack your machine and all your items have your name clearly marked on them. River City Sewing Machine Centre will not be held liable for items lost or misplaced in any of its classes.

Mobile phones are allowed in the classroom but only when turned to silent or vibrate. If you have to take or make a mobile phone call, please leave the classroom to do so so that other students can continue their class without distraction.

No guests or children may accompany students in the classroom at any time – with the exception of Kids Classes. Kids classes must have a parent or guardian present at all times.

All attendees to any event or class are reminded to be respectful of others in the classroom and avoid the use of bad language or lewd comments, loud talking, laughter or continual talking while being instructed, or the general use of bad manners. River City Sewing Machine Centre reserves the right to remove those persons from the classroom if classes or events are being disrupted in this manner.

These Terms & Conditions have been developed to minimise cancellations so that those who wish to, and are able to attend, are not disadvantaged and enjoy their classroom experience.

Lay Buy Terms and Conditions:

The purchase price will be as stated on the front of this contract and will not alter during the term of the Lay-By contract.
The first payment is as printed on this contract and shall be no less than 20%.
Payments are to be made every two weeks. Shorter or longer periods may be applied by arrangement with River City Sewing Machine Centre.
The period of the Lay-By is for a maximum 12 week period commencing from the date printed on this contract.
Subject to clause 6, any cancellation by the customer of the Lay-By will incur a cancellation charge of 20% of the total Lay-By purchase price to reflect the reimbursement of the selling costs and the loss of value of the goods and administrative fees.
The customer may cancel the Lay-By without incurring a cancellation charge if the goods are delivered damaged or any other circumstance that is set out in the Australian Consumer Law.
Lay-Bys of more than one item cannot be separated and the Lay-By must be paid for in its entirety before collection.
It is the responsibility of the customer to notify River City Sewing Machine Centre of any change of address or contact details.
The ownership of the goods will not pass to the customer until the full purchase price of the Lay-By has been paid and the terms and conditions of the Lay-By contract have been fulfilled.
Non-payment of any of the instalments set out in clause 3 herein will be a breach of the contract and River City Sewing Machine Centre may cancel the Lay-By after giving the customer 21 days written notice of the breach. The notice will be posted to the last known address. If after the notice period the customer has not made further payment or paid the balance as the circumstances require, the Lay-By will be deemed cancelled. The customer will forfeit the goods and incur the cancellation charge as set out in clause 5 herein. Any remaining sum shall be reimbursed to the customer if possible. Monies not claimed within 12 months are also forfeit.
If River City Sewing Machine Centre cancels the Lay-By other than for a breach of the above conditions, all monies will be returned to the customer without a cancellation charge.

Gift Card Terms and Conditions

River City Sewing Machine Centre (“RCSMC”) Gift Cards are only valid for use to purchase goods, services and classes at River City Sewing Machine Centre only.
RCSMC Gift Cards are non-refundable.
RCSMC Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash.
Original Purchase Value is described on the reverse of RCSMC Gift card and is recorded at the time of purchase. No changes are allowed. Any modification to the value recorded on the card will automatically cancel all value on the card making it immedialtely null and void.
RCSMC Gift card Barcode reference is recorded with the original purchase value at the time of purchase and cannot be re-loaded at a later time.
RCSMC Gift Cards remain the property of River City Sewing Machine Centre.
RCSMC Gift Cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and any remaining value will be forfeited upon the expiry date. Any remaining amount is not exchangeable for cash or another Gift Card and will be automatically forfeited.
Any additional cost exceeding the value of the issued RCSMC Gift Card will be paid by the redeemer.
Any RCSMC Gift Card will be considered null and void without the Expiry Date completed and corresponding barcode and purchase information being validated and verified in our electronic record system. Any fraudulent action or use will be reported to the police.
RCSMC Gift Cards will not be replaced when lost, damaged or stolen.
RCSMC Gift Cards are valid only at River City Sewing Machine Centre.
In the event of any dispute, the decision of River City Sewing Machine Centre is final.
River City Sewing Machine Centre reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.
