The Bruce Case Bag Pattern by Sarah Fielke

Meet Bruce – the busiest bear in the forest.

Bruce is an accountant. He loves crunching numbers almost as much as he loves crunching honeycomb. His closest friends are the bees, and every Wednesday night they all gather for spelling competitions (it’s very serious business). Only a few of his bee mates appear on this bag, but trust us – in real life, there’s a whole swarm.

Bruce is also one very lucky bear. His Aunty Tula knitted him a beautiful sweater which he proudly wears on special occasions. Naturally, a bear this important needs the right kind of bag. Is it a briefcase? Is it a messenger bag? Let’s just call it what it truly is – the BruceCase.

Both Bruce and his bag were created for the Big Woods Block of the Month designed for FreeSpirit using Tula Pink’s fabrics. The beehive and branch featured on the back of the bag were designed by Tula Pink herself. She originally created the hive for her own quilt version and generously shared her artwork so appliqué templates could be produced for BOM participants. These elements are included in this pattern with her kind permission.
